GUID and UUID are the same 128-bit format; Microsoft tools call it GUID.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between GUID and UUID?

None in format. GUID is Microsoft's term; UUID is the RFC 4122 term. Both are 32 hex digits in 8-4-4-4-12 groups.

Can I generate many at once?
